The Musical Shadow
I was in my room at 10:16 PM on November 5, 2005. I was playing guitar on the edge of my bed while talking with my friend Timothy over Skype. My speakers of my laptop were suddenly making a low, slow breathing sound while he was talking (I have no fan on my laptop). I asked him to stop breathing so heavily. He was speaking in a regular voice, so the sound wasn't him.
Five minutes later at 10:21 PM we hung up and decided to talk tomorrow. I closed my laptop for the night.
I woke up to see a shadowy figure on the left hand side corner of my laptop screen. The figure was making a weird gesture looking like he or it was dancing to some music that wasn't playing. I turned on some music that would fit his dancing and when I turned it on, he stopped and shook his head as if I was doing something wrong.
I ran a virus scan and found nothing. I recently found out that one of my distant family members died a few days before. The figure was in the shape of his body.
Two days later, the figure got bigger and increased in detail. I clicked on the figure and he pointed to a new icon on the screen called "Music.exe." "An executable file" I thought. I ran the file and some sort of techno was playing as in a game was about to play, but I thought wrong.
The techno ran on an endless loop. It would play no matter what I did. I unplugged my speakers and my computer sound chip that you would normally hear at the start up on a OS went on and started to play on that same endless loop. I shutdown my laptop but still that loop would still play.
I took my laptop and my Smith and Wesson model 66 .357 Magnum outside and set it on a spare desk I had and propped it up. I took 6 shots into my laptop. 3 days later my neighbors brought my laptop back to me in perfect condition. I opened it up and that god forsaken loop started to play again.
It had all my original files on it. Even that hellish figure was still there. I opened up Task Manager and saw that the figure ran to the program and ended it without me doing anything.
I went to the nearest computer repair store and asked to clear everything except windows off my laptop. After I got it back the figure disappeared and music.exe was gone. Until I looked back, the figure was behind me and staring into my eyes with his bleeding eyes. I luckily had my .357 Magnum beside me at that moment, I grabbed it and aimed into its head, I shot and unloaded the 5 other rounds into its body before it could even get near me.
Scared, and panicking, I called the police. they got here in less than 5 minutes, it seemed like hours.
They took the figure's body and I felt free... for now.
