The Mystery of the Suicidal Photographer

Sometimes, I always wondered why in the world does a photographer in GTA: San Andreas takes a few pictures and just goes into the water and die? Why? This has been bugging me ever since I saw videos of the strange photographers who drown to there death. So, I will just suck it up, buy a copy of the game, and investigate.

I found a really good deal online by a account named "SP". The game was only 5 bucks. Good enough for me! When I got the copy the day after, it was in perfect condition. No scratches or bents or anything. But, what seemed odd is that, there was a note inside the case where the manual was supposed to be. It had a little book saying "Lovely Pictures".

I opened it and I saw pictures of happy people and animals. There was one where a baby was walking which I thought it was cute. So I decided to put down the book and just start playing the game. What kind of threw me off, when I skipped the whole "Rockstar games blah blah blah", the intro did not appear. It just took me straight to the exact place where the suicidal photographers appear. But, something else threw me off. There was no cars passing by.

I find it strange because there was usually cars, motorcycles etc that just pass by. There wasn't even the sound of the plane roaring past above us. I sucked it up and tried to move toward the photographer, but CJ could not move. I checked my controller to see if it is working properly.

But then, once the photographer finished with his/her final few shots, he/she didn't go into the water, the photographer started walking towards me. I tried to make CJ move, but I couldn't! Then, I hear static, as he/she got closer, the noise got louder. Then my screen went black for 10 seconds.

My screen flashed for a bit then it stopped. I was now in CJ's house. The house seemed normal. What was also good about it, I can finally move CJ. I tried to go back outside, but the yellow arrow that usually points down is not there. Once I turned around, I saw writing everywhere saying:

"Want me to take your picture?"

It was written in a strange glowing like paint colored green. I ran up the stairs and went into the closet. I stayed in there for a while, but then CJ started walking towards the mirror. He stood there for 10 or more seconds until he turned around, twisting his head backwards, and what I saw was gruesome. His face... He had a really strange smile, maybe like Jeff The Killer, and his eyes.

Not just any eyes, but just blood shot eyes. They look as if... they were real. He had no ears. His hair was gone. Instead of a nose, he had 2 holes where the nose usually is. I tried to pause the game, but I couldn't. Then I started to hear a scream. It got louder and louder. I covered my ears and screamed. Then the screaming stopped. I looked up at the screen. It had a message saying:

"Do you like your picture?"

It showed me a picture of me screaming and covering my ears.

After a few seconds, it disappeared. Then the game took CJ to a door with a sign on top saying "Lovely Pictures!". I entered the room and the room contained nothing but pictures. All had the same Jeff The Killer smile, realistic demonic eyes, no ears, hair, and nose holes.

I sprinted through the room, but for some odd reason, the room just suddenly became a long hallway. Filled with nothing but pictures. Then I reached the end of the very long hallway. There he is... The Photographer. He turned around and gave me the same face as he did when CJ was in the closet.

I yelled, "Fuck off!"

I scrolled through my weapons and I only have a camera. I aimed it at him and said, "Say cheese!"

I flashed the camera at his face and his head exploded. The game flashed again following by the sound of loud static.

Then a message popped into my screen and said, "Thank you".

I took the game out of my PS2 and just smashed the CD. I went to destroy the book too, but then the message changed saying, "Thank you". I opened it to see a picture of the photographer smiling with his brand new camera.

To this day, the secret of the suicidal photographer will remain a mystery. As far as I know, I am done with GTA games.
