The Night of the Red Moon

It was a summer night, a red moon was happening tonight at 3 A.M. I was tired however so I didn't want to stay up to watch it. I was sleeping soundly until I awoke to some chanting. I looked out the window and noticed five people in black robes were walking down the street. I thought it was nothing so I tried to go back to sleep. They were chanting these words.

A picture with the chant

"Red moon, red moon...

Cleanses the sinful and makes them anew...

Shining brightly in the night sky,

waiting for the souls...

Who will be born again tonight?

Who will be born again tonight?"

I was pretty sure it was just this cult gibberish and that it was nothing to worry about. Then I noticed the daggers in their hands.

They broke into people's houses, these bright white balls of light came from the houses they were just in. They returned from the houses with bloody daggers and then more joined them from out of the house. They looked familiar, and I noticed they were my neighbors except they had a blank expression on their faces, and a wound in their heart. It then hit me, this group wasn't a cult, it was a group of soulless, possessed zombies. And when they came out of their houses, they joined the chanting.

Their souls must have been the white balls leaving the houses; they were all heading toward the red moon. The more souls that went there, the darker and more blood red it became. Then I heard some footsteps downstairs. I grabbed my gun and went down to the kitchen. I saw one of the zombies in my kitchen- I couldn't see the face, but I shot the zombie right between the eyes. Then I recognized the face, It was my girlfriend's, but with a blank expression and a dagger in her hands. I was horrified at what I had done to her. I am writing this as a warning to all. I have one bullet left and it's not for the zombies. I'd rather be dead then one of those satanic things.

To all reading this, Goodbye.
