The Nightwatcher

It started normal, just me and my friends playing video games. We watched a few movies. "Whoa, that was scary." said Warren. "Come on, that was sooo lame." Ryan declared. "Want to rent a Slenderman movie?" I asked. Andrea exclaimed, “Yes! Slenderman is awesome!!” Xian peered down from the stairs. "I- Is the m-m-mo- movie over?" He questioned. "We are renting another movie, the sequel." I said. "Fine," exclaimed Xian, as he marched up the stairs. "Ok, downloading another movie..." I said.

It's called "Revenge of the-… A loud scream tore through the open air.

We all paused. We turned to the stairs. "Was that... Xian..?" Warren asked. Everyone else looked puzzled. "Let's go check it out," Ryan insisted. We all agreed, and went upstairs. "XIAN, ARE YOU UP THERE?” No response. We went to check.

It was a horror show.

Blood was smeared all over the walls. The TV was smashed through. His dead, limp, body hanging out the window. "Xian..?" I said as I pulled him in through the window. He fell back. His face was missing. "OH GOD!" I yelled. "HOLY SHIT!" Ryan shouted. Andrea screamed, "OH MY GOD! CALL 911!" "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK IM DOING!?" Warren said, while running to the phone. While he ran downstairs, we looked out the window.

We saw a mid-aged woman, standing on the street. She had strange grey hair, even though she looks around 30 to 40 years old. She was dressed in a hoodie, and jeans. For some reason, she was trembling and staring into the ground. She was frightening, so frightening that I did not want her to look up at us. "Don’t move a single muscle." Ryan whispered to the others.

“I know don’t be too loud.” I said.

The girl must have heard me. She looked straight up at us.

We all froze in place. -Her stare, it seemed to go right through me. -Those eyes, those deadly eyes. Glowing eyes, yellow eyes. They pierce through yours. Her mouth was stitched closed, blood dripping out. She put her arms out as if going to attack.

Suddenly, a cop car barreled through. She was gone as soon as they came around the corner. "This is... Not... real."

It's just my imagination.

"Cool water will soothe the pain." I stepped into the bathroom. "I've just stayed up to late, I'm seeing things. Heh. Heh heh..." I said. This isn't real, it’s just my imagination. It just couldn't be real. I turned on the sink to wash my eyes. The cold water felt great across my warm, sweaty face.

I dried my face in the towel, and then glanced into the mirror. My eyes. They were not MY eyes anymore.... I yelled out then dropped my towel. I collapsed onto the floor and sat there. "You ok dude?" Ryan asked as he walked past the bathroom. "Yes everything is fine," I told him. "I'm just tired." I said. "Ok, Anthony, I’ve gotta head home. I'll tell Warren." Ryan said.

My eyes were bloodshot as I let out a big sigh as I slumped to my bed. I wiggled myself underneath my bed sheets. It felt great getting rest. As I closed my eyes, all I could see- all I could remember was her Terrifying, horrific face. Those bright, yellow, piercing eyes. Her rough, bloody stitches. Just thinking about it made me cringe, and feel like she was watching over me. I opened my eyes to the feel of a wet substance dropped on my forehead. I looked to the left and then to the right. I saw a brown stain on my pillow -the same color as dried blood. I felt an unwilling gesture to look up. It, was there. Watching.
