I was always the kind of person to get all geeked up whenever I fond old video games. Today, though, I stumbled upon something that made me wonder if I should ever play games again.

It was a normal day in Phoenix, Arizona. I was just browsing through the internet, when an advertisement popped up. I usually don't fall for these things, but the offer drew me in.

"Special Edition Game cube only $20" GameCube is one word though. I began to wonder why the ad would disrespect the Nintendo name like that. I simply shrugged my shoulders and clicked on the ad. I was brought to an 'Order Now' button against a black background. I clicked and filled out my info in the designated boxes.

Four weeks later, I heard a knock at my door. It was a man with grey hair and, surprisingly, wearing no UPS or Amazon or any uniform at all. He handed me a red GameCube. It had no wires, and it wasn't even in a box. I tried to ask him why, but he left. Luckily, I had spare cords.

I hooked the system into my TV and turned the system on. It started normally with the GameCube intro. I suddenly realized there wasn't a game in there, so I quickly popped one in. It was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. At the main menu, there was but one option: Story Mode. Curious, I selected it and flashes of red attacked the screen.

I heard a voice say, "Never."

There wasn't even a memory card plugged in! I was scared. I then saw my skater standing, holding his board. But the off-board feature didn't become available until three games later. I tried to get on my board, but I couldn't. A note appeared on the screen.

"TO THE BIG RΔMP."

I walked over to a large ramp. Another note appeared.

"He can see you."

Now, none of this made sense. "WHO can see me? What does that all mean?" The game must have heard me because another note appeared.

"Thomas, do not let him."

My name is Thomas. I shut the system off. This was too creepy. I heard a knock at my door. It was the man that gave me the GameCube.

He said, "Is he here yet?"

"WHO?"

"Thick Izzy. Watch out."
