The Shed
I'm Mason Lee. I was in the U.S. Special Forces for 4 years until three of my friends and I were sent to investigate a supposed weapon shed hidden in XXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX. There was no exact location, so we had to find it on our own. After we arrived in the forest, we went in to investigate. We were walking around the area and found nothing as a group, so we split up. Blake and John went eastwards and were supposed to curve south, Brick and I went east and curved north. We didn't see much, but damn was it silent.
There was no sound at all, and I mean none whatsoever. The only thing we could hear were our own heartbeats. That is, until we saw something in the distance. It looked large and brownish, so we assumed it was the shed. We were right. The door was made of solid steel, yet it was unlocked. We slowly opened the door, and all we saw inside was a seemingly bottomless hole with a ladder going down it. It was pitch black so we had to use our helmet lights.
The hole was old and the iron ladder was rusted. We were a bit suspicious, but our mission was to find the weapons locker. We began to climb down. The ground started to rumble about half way in. We quickly started to climb back up, but it was too late; the hole had collapsed. We fell and hit the ground like a shattering vase. We could barely stand up. We turned our helmet lights back on and saw a long, dark hallway. We called for help using the radio, but it didn't work underground.
We were trapped, so we had no choice but to continue. When we started walking, we heard a scratching sound everywhere. We figured they were coming from animals digging in the ground and kept walking until confronted by a small dark figure. It was my daughter. I jumped at her and hugged her, but when I did her eyes were closed and she had blood all over her. I laid her down on the ground and started crying. I didn't care how she got here, but all I knew that she was dead.
I stopped crying after 3 minutes. We had to continue, so we pressed on. When we started to walk away, my daughter stood up. Blood was dripping from her eyes. She slowly walked towards Brick, twitching. She opened her mouth next to him and bit his arm clean off. He fell to the ground, and she began to eat him. I threw up right then and there. I began to run as fast as I could. I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. It was the exit!
I sprinted even faster, but so did she. She cut my arm 3 inches deep, but despite this, I kept running and finally reached the exit. It was a ladder made of pure diamond, and the walls were made of gold. I climbed up it faster then I've climbed anything in my life, but she was still behind me. I reached the top and it was near where Blake and John were. I called for help. Blake heard me and ran towards me. I was still running from her until Blake shot her in the face twice. She fell to the ground, dead. He saw how badly wounded I was and helped me out of the forest, After that the other US SP's went and investigated the area, but found nothing.
It still makes me wonder if that shed was real. But I know that Brick did die.
