The universe is incomprehensibly massive

It is impossible for the human mind even to begin to visualize how large it is. Let's start with just gauging the distance between us and the sun, it's already a mind bender, we are 1 AU away, about 93 million miles. Try to visualize just a hundred miles, you cannot even start to put it anywhere in your field of vision, now imagine something one million times more than that, truly unimaginable.

And yet, with that vast distance between us and the sun, somehow it managed not to be the farthest thing ever. The nearest star to the sun is 250 thousand times further than that, or in another unit, 4.2 light years. A light year is the distance that light, the fastest thing in the universe, travels in one year. So even at the fastest anything in the universe can get, it still takes 4.2 years to even get to the nearest star. The galaxy is 200 thousand light years and the universe contains billions and billions of galaxies. So no one can actually even think about how big the universe is, a human mind can't even properly comprehend one light year as an actual physical distance.

And despite the immense size of the universe, enough to frighten the creator himself, not even a single soul in that vast expanse has asked for your opinion.
