Yet Another Haunted Game
"What've we got this time, Marv?"
"The usual, Al. Another haunted game."
"Again? This is our third one this week! What system?"
"Looks like a Wii disc. I, uh, can't tell you much more than that because the kid smashed it and set it on fire."
"Least they were thorough. Think that stopped whatever was haunting it?"
"Nah. Probably made it angry, though. I'm starting to hear 'You cannot escape' in my head."
"...Great, now I've got it too. Get the trash compactor ready."
"Will do! Hey, can you hang onto this for a second while I go get it warmed up? It's getting hot."
"Just set it down, Marv. If we don't mess with it, it won't hurt us--something they need to learn. I don't understand why they keep playing these obviously haunted games!"
"Are they really that obvious?"
"Tell me, Marv. What was our catalog last week?"
"Let's see, uh... Sonic Adventure 666, Haunted Kong, Pokemon Blastoise Blue, and The Legend of Dead. You wanna hear the week before last?"
"No."
"You sound angry."
"I am angry! Okay, Marv. let's put it this way. If a kid sees a new game, he or she wants to play it. Right?"
"Right."
"And if that game turns out to be haunted, they keep playing. If I hafta hear that curiosity excuse one more time..."
"Hey, that kid was nice enough to talk to us about it!"
"Sure, whatever. Assuming the game doesn't steal their souls, trap them inside the game, or murder them, they destroy it and throw it out. And what happens then?"
"We pick it up and get rid of it."
"Riiight. When they throw 'em out, it's our job to pick up after 'em!"
"Don't be so bitter! That's what garbage men do. It's our job."
"I did not sign up for this paranormal crap! I'll tell you what, Marv. The next paranormal game we see, I ain't touching. Let it find its way back to the dumb kid."
"You're assuming it will."
"Hey, at least I wouldn't play it."
"...Speaking of, the game's repaired itself while we were talking. Its label is Wii Spooky Sports."
"...Add it to the list and fire up the compactor."
"Will do."
