YourNext.exe

Now to start off, I have always been a big fan of indie games, such as Minecraft, Slender, and Super Meat Boy. I will not give you the link to this document for the safety of your sanity.

It was an average day, I was just scouring round the internet for any freeware for my new laptop I'd just bought (my old one overheated), when I found something interesting. It was a seemingly obscure foreign website. I cannot give out the name of this website as it has been shut down as of September 2012.

Being the careless person I am, I decided to click on it. Even though I had my brand new laptop specifically built for multitasking and hardcore gaming, the website took about an hour to load. I was excited and bored at the same time, as I've never seen a website take so long to load.

I got up, poured myself a glass of coke, and sat back down on my chair. This website clearly wasn't going to load anytime soon, so I tried to open up YouTube for some comic relief. It wouldn't work. Every time I tried to open anything else an error message would pop up saying "이 웹 사이트는 여전히 인내, 잠깐로드", which roughly translates to:

"The website is loading, WAIT PATIENTLY!"

It was clear I would have to wait out this hour in boredom.

When the website finally loaded, it was surprisingly not in foreign at all. I was not disappointed. There were over 2000 free games in the list, each with a rough description and some screenshots. I saw something that stuck out for me though, being a vast player of horror games. It was called YoureNext.exe. It seemed like a cheesy, lame FPS running on the same engine as DOOM and QUAKE from looking at the screenshots. I thought I would download it, since cheesy games always made me laugh. Surprisingly, the RAR only contained two files. A readme, and a ROM. I thought this is because the game ran on the same engine as DOOM.

I opened the readme. It said to drag the ROM file into my command prompt. It started generating random codes and then after a few minutes, a file called YoureNext.exe was placed on my desktop. I thought this was a very strange way to install a game, even for a foreign country. I opened the file. It turned out to be another DOOM clone. Or so I thought. I started a new game. The game was pretty simple, similar to Wolfenstein 3D in shapes and colors,

Every few seconds though, a picture would flash across my screen for about a milisecond. I couldn't see what these were, so I decided to start up Ezvid and record my gameplay. Then the game crashed after about 20 minutes. So I viewed back my footage. What I saw was disturbing. It seemed to be a video put in frame by frame, of a young boy having their guts tied around them. I threw up all over my screen. Then, I heard a knock at my door.

I opened it to see a dead boy at my front door.
