A Close Encounter with the Supernatural

So, a little background of the layout of my house (I promise this will be important later). When you approach my house, you can't see the first floor due to a row of hedges. Once in the yard there is a porch with 3-4 stairs leading up to it from the yard. Once you're on the porch, you can either go in the front door, which is right in front of you, or go around the side (which you cannot really see form the front or backyard) and enter through a side door that leads to the kitchen. For the purposes of this story, I will describe entering in through the front door. Once you pass through it, you are standing in the foyer with open passages leading to a family room (right), dining room (left) and a kitchen in the back. There is also a staircase that leads to the second floor. The balcony from the second floor is open so you can see down into the foyer and, depending on where you are standing, either see some of the dining room and family room. That upper landing has two bedrooms off of it (my sister's room and a guest room). Then a hallway that leads back to my parents room and my room which are on either side of the hall from each other, There is also a linen closet sort of halfway down the hall.

Someone pooped in there.
