Growing up, my favourite comic strip (along side Peanuts) was Calvin and Hobbes. It was about a boy and his stuffed tiger which he imagined was alive and their many misadventures. Now that I look back on it, it really did capture the innocence of many many childhoods. That is, until, I stumbled across THAT thing. Unlike everyone else, I know the actual truth. I'm the only one who realises that this exists. Unless more see it. |

The whole thing started when I was snooping around the local Goodwill store. It was your normal stuff you'd expect to find: books, old clothes, VHS tapes, cook wear, etc. But something caught my eye. It was sticking out underneath the book pile, so I wandered over to take a peek at what it was, and what to my eyes behold, it was a treasury of Calvin and Hobbes comics. A warm wave of nostalgia hit me as I picked it up and took it to the counter. The woman running the counter rang it up, then handled it to me. I giddily left the building, feeling like a kid again, ready to be wrapped up again in my childhood. |

As I was driving, I took a look at the cover. It was torn slightly and faded, with only the words "Calvin and Hobbes" on it. No hint to what was inside. Weird, I thought. From the ones I have, it often gives a bit of a clue on what the featured comic is, but I didn't care. As soon as I got home, I sat down with my prize and began to read. I knew all of them. I laughed at all of them as well. Until, that is, I got to the last one. |
