When I was younger I used to watch a lot of YouTube on my really old phone. One of the things I watched was a Mario Plush series called "Cute Mario Bros". It was a funny series created by MarioMario8989 which featured a Mario action figure, and a Luigi plush going on these fun little misadventures. The very first episode was from 2006, but then was found and reuploaded in 2009. This episode was made before the 2007 video they made called "Find Yoshi". I haven't watched the series in a while, but it is really enjoyable. But that's not what I'm here to talk about in this story.

I was on their channel in 2011, watching some of the episodes of The Cute Mario Bros, then I stumbled upon one episode... It was titled: "Cute Mario Bros: Limited Time". The thumbnail... was not in a happy style, it showed Mario and Luigi sitting on their bed next to each other in a room of darkness. The walls were not to be seen. This episode had 2 views and was uploaded 1 week ago. Usually episodes of Cute Mario Bros would have a LOT more views by 1 week, I thought it was really odd. Was it because of the thumbnail? Or what drifted viewers away from that video? There was only one way to find out, I clicked on the video, and waited for it to load, then the video started.

The video started out on a black screen, then about a matter of seconds (which was not very long) a short sentence slowly faded on the screen, in a creepy looking text font. It said: Limited Time, which was the same name as the episode, usually it doesn't introduce the name of the episode. But when it was slowly fading in, static began to flicker at random points of the title screen. It began to flicker at a really quick speed, and for a split second when the static wasn't there, there was a blood red text that flashed on the screen. I couldn't tell what it said so I tried to pause it at the right time. It took me about 5 minutes to pause it perfectly, but after 5 minutes of concentration, I finally got it, but when I read the text, I couldn't tell if it was scary, or some sort of clue. The text that was on the screen said "HURRY UP!!! YOU ONLY GOT A LIMITED TIME!!!" What did it mean by limited time? I kept thinking it was some sort of offer that was shown in the video that was limited for a certain amount of time.

Finally the fading text came clear onto the screen. Then after a few seconds, the title disappeared and static began to quickly flicker, what was worse was that the static noise was even louder than it was before, it was literally hurting my ears, I was about to stop the video when, it showed a still image of Mario and Luigi sitting on a bed, like it did in the thumbnail. There was white noise in the background, which made it creepy because they weren't doing ANYTHING. Usually there would be happy or cartoonish music playing in the background, but instead there was just white noise. About 30 seconds later, the noise slowly becomes louder, and then the screen slowly fills with static. While the static was covering the screen, a pair of red eyes could be seen in the background. Then once the static covers the screen, it stays like that for a few seconds.

About 10 seconds of static, a scream can be heard. After the scream is over, the static stops and cuts to black with white text on the screen that said "5:00". At this point I was completely clueless about what just happened. I was thinking that this was just some sort of VFX test or something, because that's what it looked like to me. What was even more confusing was that the text on the screen said 5:00. What is that supposed to mean? Then after a few seconds the text slowly faded. After that confusing moment, it cut to where it looked like an ordinary episode of Cute Mario Bros. But it seemed a little off, instead of what I've known of Cute Mario Bros, there was no sound at all, not even the white noise from before, and there was faint static on the screen. This part of the video showed Mario in his kitchen or something then it looks like he heard a noise coming from a different area. I couldn't tell because, well, there was no sound! How was I supposed to know? It turns out my guess was correct because it then cuts to Mario opening the door to let someone in.

He opens the door, but it doesn't show the person that knocked on the door. Before Mario could open the door all the way, the screen then cut to black. And a loud and distorting crushing/stabbing sound could be heard. It was loud enough to almost make me scream out loud to where my parents could hear me. Then static came back on the screen, the noise continued for a while at this point. The static then fades a bit, and what I saw was shocking. It played a clip of a Mario action figure's head coming off and being thrown on the floor. The clip played over and over again for 10 seconds until it cut to another black screen that said "3:30". "What does this mean?!" I thought to myself. As much as I wanted to close this video, I couldn't. Curiosity took over me, so I kept watching the video. After the 3:30 text, it faded like the other text from earlier did. A few seconds after that it cut to a slowed down video clip of a close-up of Luigi in a dark area (Or under the covers). It was suspiciously similar to the Cute Mario Bros episode called Home Alone. So I thought it was just another video test made by MarioMario8989. I now realize that that couldn't have been possible in 2011 because the Home Alone episode was released in 2013. I still think about that today.

When that close-up of Luigi was playing, there was reversed music playing in the background, the music somehow fit really well with what was going on at this point. But after a matter of seconds, the screen for a split second cut to static and cut to black. After 2 seconds the video came back on. Now this time there was a dark shadow surrounding the center of the screen which made things even creepier than they already were. The next clip shows Luigi coming out of the covers of his bed. Then the screen becomes distorted, and so does the audio. Then it all of the sudden cuts to a screen that says "0:30". I was angry and scared at this point. I wanted to know what was going on and why this is happening. I clinched my fists together in response to the anger and fear I was feeling. The 0:30 second text slowly faded. This part had a little bit of a pause, longer than the pauses after the other texts from before.

After the pause, the next scene was just unsettling, it showed Luigi floating in a pool of his own blood. "Poor Luigi..." I thought. Then after the horrific scene of Luigi's corpse, there was a demonic voice that shouted "POOR LUIGI!!!" I was so scared to the point where I really wanted to cry, but I didn't want my parents to hear me. After that demonic voice went away. There was complete silence, then after about 10 seconds, a very loud low pitched buzzing noise began to play. About 3 seconds later, it showed the same image from the beginning where Mario and Luigi were sitting next to each other. But this time, the image's colors were blood-red, and the screen began to slowly distort. And a text slowly faded in saying "TIME'S UP". It stayed on the screen for a bit before there was a black and white face that faded in front of the picture of Mario and Luigi. The face had glowing eyes and was slowly moving around. I couldn't tell what it was doing, but it was really creepy. Then the video cut to black, and it finally ended.

I was frozen in fear of what I just witnessed, I slowly looked at the clock and it was 11:30 at night. I tried to sleep that night, but I only got very little sleep. I got up at 6 in the morning and went to the bathroom. I noticed that my eyes were bloodshot. I didn't move, I just stared at myself in the mirror, then walked down to where my brother was. He woke up and saw me right next to him. I then said to him: "TIME'S UP!!!"
