If you see a train at 3am... run

I don't have much time. The train is coming towards me and it's going to get me. I'm getting tired of running away and I don't think it will take long for it to get me.

Something weird happened last week. I was in my house, after a long day at work, when suddenly a loud noise woke me up. I was a bit confused at first, then I realized it was a train.

"Oh, they probably built new traintracks" I thought to myself. So I tried to go to sleep again when suddenly... I heard a loud noise downstairs. The entire house was shaking like if an earthquake was taking place. I went downstairs and then I saw it.

It was a train. The train was going throught my house.

I figured I wouldn't be able to sleep that night, so I got myself a coffee and decided to watch some TV. I obviously ended up falling asleep anyway and when I woke up... the TV was not there.

"Wait, what?" I asked myself. Then I went near the place where my TV was meant to be and about five seconds later another train came and pushed my sofa away.

"Oooh, so that's what happened!" I laughed, while getting ready for work.

My workplace felt... weird that day. Everyone seemed to find my presence bothersome. Like if they didn't want me to be there. Apparently I was so annoying and undesired my boss ended up sending me home, even though I didn't really do anything out of the ordinary. My wife left me as well that day, but I didn't care that much because we had been fighting daily for months and I was getting tired of her.

My only company now: the trains.

A few days passed. It was 3am again, and the trains woke me up once more. Since I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep that night neither I made myself some coffee. It tasted... differently. Something was off.

"Wait. This is not coffee. This is... gasoline?"

A train immediatly broke into the house, smashing the wall:

"THAT IS MY GASOLINE!!"

I had enraged the beast.

Without hesitation I started running. Running from the train. Running from one of the evil beings that had been haunting me for days. I'm writing this as I run away from it with my phone. If I survive, I'll update my story. Please wish me luck.

Update: I kept running away from the train. Suddenly, I started to question my own existence. Nobody wanted me to be close to them all of a sudden. It made no sense. Nothing made any sense.

The last straw was when I tried to just get out of the train tracks so the train would just run past me but... I couldn't. I physically couldn't. I was feeling like I was floating. Like if this was only a bad dream.

"Just wake up. Try to wake up. This is a bad dream. Trains don't act that way."

And I closed my eyes. I stopped breathing so intensely. I could feel my pillow, my bedsheets, my home. Way before all of this started.

It was all a dream.

I open my eyes.

The train is still chasing me.

...

Think. Think. There has to be a way to stop this. To stop this. To stop.

That was it. There was no escape. All I could do is stop and let the train take me. I had nothing to lose anyway, nothing to live for.

So I stopped.

Wait. Why am I still moving forward?

It took me around 30 seconds to stop entirely. Nothing was making any sense until I looked back, and noticed the train had stopped as well. But something was completely wrong:

That wasn't a train.

Those were just a bunch of train wagons. Without a locomotive.

And then I understood. I understood why nobody felt safe near me. I understood why my house was filled with trains. I understood why I was drinking gasoline.

I wasn't a human getting invaded by trains. I was a train living in a train station.
