These entries were written in Julie Harren's diary. She was about 21 years old at the time. I found it looking through old documents at the police department, snooping through the files while my dad. Who worked there was in the break room. These entries were the ones flagged by the police, in one sub-file. Lavender Town Disas ter, 1996.

I got it! I FINALLY got it! Pokémon Blue is the best thing that's ever happened to me! Mom said at first that I had to wait 'til it was cheaper, but she gave in!

I started playing it today, and it is the BEST game EVER! I got all the way to some cave near a place that I don't know yet. I'm gonna play it soon, but I'm going to be in university all week, so I don't have time.

Something strange is going on at university. A lot of people aren't coming anymore. Even my friend Emily didn't come. They all seem to have played the game Pokémon Red or Blue though.

Same date, 6:09 PM

I'm really sad now, because I just got a phone call about an hour ago. It was Emily's mom. She was really sad and was crying so hard I couldn't hear at first. She stopped long enough to say that Emily died yesterday. I went into shock and dropped the phone.

I couldn't believe it. She was only 21, just like me. I wondered what had happened, so I went to her house to find only Ricky, Emily's brother. He said that they found her with her Gameboy in her hand, still with headphones on, and a creepy music from someplace called Lavender Town. I just came home to think. I'm gonna think now.

Emily's funeral was today. I went, because she was my best friend. She looked as if she were sleeping peacefully. I wanted to go to her house earlier, but then I remembered she was gone. When I got home, I decided to play my Gameboy. I'm gonna play right now. I wanna find out what happened to her and that was the last entry in the whole diary.

According to the other files, she mysteriously passed away only 20 minutes after the entry. The police noticed exactly the same thing that happened to Emily, along with plenty other people that had the game. The game is now banned in the little town of Sunshine Valley, but the memory still lives among the parents of the victims.
