A month ago, I had come home from college because the pandemic closed everything down. With almost a 4 month summer break, I figured I would need some cash. I had looked for jobs for a week with no luck, nobody is really hiring right now. Until, I got an email, it was a position open for the night clerk at a convenient store. Having worked at stores throughout college, I knew what to do, so it didn’t seem like too much of a challenge. It paid $11/h and I would be working from 7pm-7am. Not too bad I thought, 11 dollars to sit around since barely anyone would be out.

I put in my application and immediately received a phone call to come in for an interview the following day. After completing my interview, I was hired. I came in the following day to start my shift. The morning clerk smiled when I walked in. He said he was glad they could find a replacement so quickly. It seemed a little odd, but hey, workers are scarce right now.

I know you're thinking "I've read these stories before. what a joke" but this is serious. I have posted on every forum just to get my message out. If something is too good to be true, it probably is.

A month ago, I had come home from college because the pandemic closed everything down. With almost a 4 month summer break, I figured I would need some cash. I had looked for jobs for a week with no luck, nobody is really hiring right now. Until, I got an email, it was a position open for the night clerk at a convenient store. Having worked at stores throughout college, I knew what to do, so it didn't seem like too much of a challenge.

Once I got everything settled, I opened the cash register, in the empty slot I saw a followed up piece of paper. It reads the following:

RULES:

1. Make sure to lock all the windows at 8pm.
2. If you see someone lingering in the parking lot for too long without coming in, call the police.
3. Check the bathrooms every 30 minutes to see if they need to be cleaned

Okay, these seem normal enough, I thought. that was until I got to the next rule.

4. If you see a woman dressed in all white crying, do the renegade. she will leave.
5. If you hear a weird noise coming from the cooler, make 3 farting noises with your armpit. you do NOT want to know what happens if you don't.
6. Make sure you never close your eyes
7. Don't breathe for longer than 4 minutes at a time.
8. Keep your eyes closed all the time

I opened my eyes... Now the yodeling Walmart boy won't stop playing over the loud speaker.
